What is webmail?

Webmail is a way of sending and receiving emails from a web browser instead of from an email client. If you're constantly on the go, webmail gives you the flexibility to access your email from any device.

When you send or receive an email, it's stored in the servers of webmail, internet service, or hosting providers - like Gmail, Comcast, or GoDaddy. When you use webmail, you're accessing your email through your provider's servers. As long as you're connected to the internet, you can send and receive messages from any device. All you need to do is sign in to a site tied to your email account.

When using webmail, your email always remains on your provider's server. If you don't have an internet connection or the provider's servers are down, you can't use webmail. In contrast, with an email client like Outlook, your email gets stored on your computer or a local server. It allows you to see your email whenever you want, even if you're offline.
